Lefty's Barbershop Lilydale

I’ve been to this salon before, but this experience was very disappointing. I originally booked an appointment, which was later cancelled by the salon saying the barber was sick. I then rescheduled the appointment. Unlike every other time I’ve booked here, I did not receive any confirmation or reminder message. Because of this, I genuinely forgot — and I was still charged $82 for a no-show. When I contacted the owner to explain the situation, there was no willingness to discuss it or offer any solution — I was simply told "it is how it is." On a previous visit, I was given an apprentice for a haircut without being asked. Unfortunately, I wasn’t happy with the result, so for my next booking I requested a different barber, which I believe is a reasonable request as a paying customer. I understand no-show policies, but cancelling appointments, not sending reminders as usual, and then charging customers without any flexibility or professionalism leaves a very poor impression. Sadly, I won’t be returning and wouldn’t recommend this place based on how this was handled. Very unprofessional.

As a female with a preferred short hair/shaved ‘look’ a barbershop is perfect💈 In Lilydale we are blessed with a couple of really great ones and yesterday I tried Lefty’s and was so impressed! Mike listened to me, he was so kind and understanding, and I felt very at ease (sometimes being the only female in a barbershop can feel awkward), and most of all, he is passionate and talented in his field of expertise! Prior to my visit I contacted Lefty’s to make a booking and Tara has been overwhelmingly helpful with personal text messages and great care. This is locals doing small business VERY well and I implore you to support them 🙏

Had a head shave and beard trim at Lefty’s Barbershop Healesville — couldn’t be happier with the result. Clean fade, sharp beard line, and great attention to detail. The vibe in the shop is relaxed and welcoming, and you can tell they take pride in their work. Definitely my new go-to spot! Thanks Tara

What can you do once the clippers have been driven up the side of your head way further than you wanted? You can choose rage or let them finish and never go back. I chose the latter because words wouldn’t fix it, I was polite and made the best of a bad situation. This is hands down, the worst haircut I’ve had in my life, we looked at a picture, agreed on one thing and I got something completely different. A low fade with a bit more length isn’t a #1 short back and sides. Do not assume you will get what you ask for, even when you believe there is a clear understanding. 3-4 months in a hat should fix it.

Went to Lefty’s for the first time today and had a fantastic experience. I was able to get a booking on short notice, Michael gave me one of the best cuts of my life, and he was friendly and knowledgeable. I was also impressed by how clean the shop looked and smelt! Will definitely return.

Tara is a amazing. My son had had a few bad experiences with hair cuts and it was really hard to get him to get a haircut. Tara's engagement with him was fantastic all the way through and she listened to exactly what he wanted. The smile on his face at the end was great. Amazing people, amazing local business. My first time at Lefty’s today and it was a brilliant experience. Tara cut my hair and did an exceptional job, one of the best jobs I’ve had, and even better than that, the service was wonderful. Can’t recommend them enough!
