Susan at Alter Ego did an incredible job altering my wedding dress. After having it altered by another place who did a sloppy job, Susan fixed all the issues including unstitching complex bust boning, inserted new cups, adjusting the shoulder strap and fixing the draped sash so that it stayed in place but still looked draped across the shoulders. Would highly recommend!

Susan took me in at the last minute, worked her magic, and somehow made it fit perfectly — better than it ever had before! I was referred to Susan and the ladies at Alter Ego by White Atelier, and I am so grateful that Alter Ego was there to help me get my alterations done in the last few weeks leading up to my wedding. My dress needed very specific alterations involving a petticoat and also the complicated bust section, and Susan helped me feel like everything was going to all work out - and it did! They thought of everything, and even steamed my dress, veil and petticoat prior to the big day. It was an all-round amazing service.

Beyond disappointed. Took my engagement dress in for super minor alterations (2 darts & adjusting a button). The darts & button work was fine but when I got the dress back not only were there a few small marks but it was covered in pulls. I brought this up when collecting & was told "oh yeah we noticed that, this is how the dress came to us". Makeup on the neckline - fine that was me & easily cleanable, but was told I had caused the dirt-like marks on the lower back of the dress & the pulls… It was brand with tags - tried on twice (2nd time at Alter Ego) & was in pristine condition before handing in for alterations. They attempted to fix the pulls & ended up creating more on the front of the dress. Example pic attached - hard to photograph but super noticeable in person. Paid full price for the work. Alterations were fine but damage caused was so upsetting. Was recommended this business by a friend who’d had great alterations done on jeans. Would never go back, especially not with any delicate garments.

I was referred to Susan at Alter ego by the shop where I bought my wedding dress. not only did she do a fantastic job on the alterations which are completely invisible but she went out of her way to complete the job super quickly to save me a trip to back to Brisbane. Incredible seamstress and great service.
