This was our first visit here and we were fortunate enought to stroll in from our room at 7.15pm without a booking on a Friday night. From the beginning the staff were kind, attentive and very courteous. The sunset view was stunning, the service was incredibly prompt and the courses were delivered with perfect timing. Speaking of the food.....it was sensational. My photos don't do it justice but the slow cooked steak and herb and hemp chicken were divine. Cooked perfectly with beautiful flavour combinations - what a chef!!! And, as if the mains weren't impressive enough, dessert was epic. The cheesecake was the ideal size for sharing, had a buttery base that rivals the best melting moments and was surprisingly elevated by the homemade sherbet and mint leaf jellies. The extra touch of spun sugar was befitting of a Master Chef episode. Bunbury is truly lucky to have such a fine gem in residence.
I regularly go to basalt as they are amazing both in service and in food quality. Chef Victoria’s pork belly is one the best pork dishes that I have ever tasted and I regularly get pork belly all over WA. The food is constantly made to a good quality, the service is exceptional and the staff are very friendly and helpful, although sometimes busy. Ollie, Kat and Glenn especially make my experiences the best and I just keep coming back. I highly recommend everyone to try one of Bunbury best kept secrets. You won’t be disappointed.
Absolutely it’s a lovely place to stay. They capitalised their services in food and I’m talking about in general services. Friendly staff with smiling faces is the best way to start the day. Good food and atmosphere. ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️ I love to come back!!!!
First time staying in Bunbury and dinner didn't disappoint. The service was so friendly and the atmosphere was spectacular. The menu has just absolutely phenomenal and i am fussy. They must be counting their blessings to have a chef and crew that can deliver on a level that i see in top restaurants in Melbourne (Sydney still standard in my experience) The only disappointment is they aren't open on Sundays which means I have to come back as I really need to experience most of the menu items. Great work and highly appreciated 👏
Went in with high hopes for the steak sandwich. Great view from the restaurant over back beach but they obviously thought we had to pay for the view as it was $47 for 3 pints!!! The steak sandwiches came quickly but were a complete letdown. The chips were anaemic and devoid of taste or crunch and the steak was barely thicker than the slice of bacon they put in to try and justify the $34. Two out of three of us didn’t finish the sandwich. We told the staff but they couldn’t care less. Avoid.
This was our first visit and it will certainly not be our last. The food and service could not be faulted. We both liked the way the meals were presented. Good size servings without being overly sized. Waiters did a great job and very attentive.
Wow, Normally for birthdays we go to market eating house, it was closed so i looked into something different.. Soo happy i chose Basalt.. Entrees and mains were devine.. flavours were amazing. Everything was exceptional. Myself and my partner are total foodies and both rate Basalt 10 out of 10. From the service to the exceptional food, desserts and OMG the coctails were phenomenal. Will make this now a regular visit.
