Great place to visit - especially with kids. I love the information centre and the animal sanctuary - always see something to see whether its wallabies/emus/echidnas (or all of them if you're lucky). Bird hides are lovely to walk to for a short walk or can do a longer one through the sanctuary or cross the road down and walk down the Balcombe estuary.
So beautiful out here!! The wetlands walk was gorgeous - bird hideouts and a lookout, plus plenty of boardwalk space to wander along and a visitor centre with clean and well maintained bathrooms.
Had a good walk around the short loop, be aware that it involves getting to the top of the hill over rutted narrow paths. My Sister uses a walker and found it exhausting as did I, we are in our 80s but managed it in about an hour. Heard lots of birds and saw one small kangaroo. Lots of ducks and a swan with signets on the lake. The lookouts are accessible and well worth a visit.
Great area to explore. Nature walks, lots picnic tables areas to relax and enjoy scenery. Homestead was amazing to explore but outside only. Beautiful views of surrounds and visitors centre, small cafe but we didn't check it out on this visit, community garden , outdoor education camp area, and lots more. We visited on a Tuesday so was quiet. Definitely visit again.
We attended the Harry Potter experience in May and found it to be good but not great. The lights were great but the line ups to case a spell were ridiculously long so we didn’t bother. The long walking trail was moreso that of a light show with a few scattered projections, large statues and ornaments. The hot chocolates and snacks along the trail were overly expensive for what they were. The parking was not arranged in a logical sense with cars parked too close to others resulting in difficulty reversing to get out - the space left between rows of parked cars was that of one lane. We’re glad we went to the experience but wouldn’t return if it was to come out again.
It's so beautiful here. We've seen kangaroos, emus, kookaburra , but we haven't seen koala,I hope we can see them next time.
It's a lovely place to visit, take a walk 🚶♀️, spot some wildlife 🦘🦆🐦🌳,picnic tables available, toilets 🚻 available, check out the visitors centre, bird hides & Cafe.
