Compact theatre on other side opposite the Upper FTG train station. Really nice with proper theatre vibes - the interior has crests on walls & pics that adds to the ambience. Seats inside are leather yesteryear type but comfy enough. Smaller capacity means, a good view seated anywhere. Noticed that it was not elderly friendly though - not much room to squeeze in with canes & walking aids but most regular patrons seem to manage well. Make a beeline for toilets at break as it is limited & the elderly take a long time to exit! There is a Bar to purchase cool drinks or ice-creams but this is it. Unlike a few other theatre venues that offer complimentary tea/coffee & bikie at break, none here except for drinking water. Would have been happy to pay for hot drinks if offered. We ventured outside to nearby Cafe but q was too long here to make it back on time. Recent Sunday matinee Agatha Christie's play Spider Web was well enacted but I found the plot before the break plodding (just me - I never miss an AC play). Plenty of free parking nearby.

Intimate theatre with limited seating so it's wise to book for the performances. It has been staging productions since 1945 and won many awards in the process. The reception area incorporates a bar offering a variety of alcoholic and other drinks.

Went to see ‘Art’ last night and loved it! The actors were marvelous and the exploration of their character’s friendships was insightful. The intimate atmosphere at this theatre, the glass of champagne at the end of the show and the opportunity to chat to the actors, is always appreciated.😊
