Plate Events & Catering

I recently used Plate Events for my wedding in Blackheath for catering, staffing, cake styling and serving, florals, hire items and wedding styling and would highly recommend absolutely everything. A real highlight was working with Matt and his consistent communication to my many questions over a 12 month period. I started an enquiry in January and we had back and forth emails up until my wedding in November as our guest numbers changed due to covid restrictions, our plan for the day shifted a few times as well and I had lots of questions and ideas I wanted to discuss. Matt was so responsive and patient with me and just an absolute pleasure to work with. He and his team did an amazing job with everything for our wedding - the food was amazing, the florals were beautiful, the staff were absolutely lovely and the wedding was styled so well. Matt also built a Poruwa (small platform) for our Sri Lankan ceremony and he and his team did the most incredible florals for this despite not having done one of these ceremonies before. I absolutely recommend Plate Events for weddings especially as Matt and his team just do such an amazing job, but also for any kind of event whether it's big or small. Highly, highly recommend.

Matthew has handled many of my events including my engagement and wedding. He is very professional, prompt in his replies and so accommodating and helpful with making my vision come to life. I will continue to use Matthew for all my event needs. He can not only do the 'small' stuff such as invitations and RSVP cards but then all the way to hiring from him, cutlery and then giant marquees and chandlers. He then also provides styling, catering and is licensed to serve alcohol. Super easy to work with and his team are presented nicely and easy going. Thank you Matthew for everything so far and for everything in the future!

I highly recommend Plate Events & Catering. Matt is prompt with his communication and goes above and beyond to to give you exactly what you want. We have used Plate Events & Catering for many years to make our cakes and we are never disappointed. The only downfall is that there are never any leftovers to take home because the cakes are too delicious!! I have attended events organised by Plate Events & Catering which are well-organised and themed beautifully. Definitely a small business worth supporting!!

Plate Events and Matthew Atkins catered and helped us manage decorations and everything better on our wedding day two years ago. This review is long over due, we just got caught by surprise by the little one. Our day was one of the wettest day that summer, and Matthew and his team was amazing working with challenges such as a flooded kitchen. They quickly found solutions with very little delay. The team was friendly and accommodating, and wasn’t let down by the weather. The whole day was tailored to our dreams, and Matthew helped put our dream together to a plan. They supplied decorations and flowers too. The menu and the cake were also tailored to our plant-based request. We highly recommend Plates events, Matthew and his team. Ordered the Deluxe Original Grazing Box for delivery to my Dad for Fathers Day due to COVID Lockdown and being in separate councils. The box that arrived was full of beautiful and fresh produce of the highest quality and was thoroughly enjoyed by family over the day! Will definitely be a return customer.
