Thai Tastic Restaurant

First time visiting this restaurant. We all enjoyed our lunch very much. Lunch specials at $13 were fresh, delicious and nicely presented. A second visit is on the cards.

I’ve been visiting Port Macquarie for work for over 9 years now - once I discovered this restaurant, I rarely eat anywhere else. Be it eat in or take away, the menu is fantastic and the food is so fresh and tastes great. Service is always lovely and when dining in, it’s a beautifully clean restaurant with lovely atmosphere. Highly recommend.

It's the worst Thai Food I have eaten. We have ordered take away food for the eve of my birthday and we got served oily food, which was beyond edible. You can see a few mm of oil floating in the food and had to dab paper towel to get some out. Even then, we could not continue eating as it was causing all of us to feel pretty. We ended up getting an upset stomach. Not worth the money and time. Very disappointed. Fyi, the photos taken are after dabbing the paper towels in.

There was no vegan menu, only options were stir fried veggies and fried rice. The fried rice had almost no seasoning. Gave us the price of the special fried rice, which was 20$, 5$ just for the Tofu. Can't recommend for vegans.

Thai food are pretty much varied in taste depending on where the origination of the chef and at time attuned to local taste. With Thai Tastic, these are my favourites dishes for my visits. Ginger chicken wings, Deep fried barramundi with Thai Herbs (was perfectly cook with right amount of crunch yet not losing the soft texture of the flesh...timing is everything), Som Tom of any variation is always a must - always ask for mild heat it is appetizing, if too hot it kills the joy.) As for dessert, sticky rice with Mango would finish off the dinner well. ( What I personally preferred would be coconut milk/cream cooks with hint of sugar to give it slight punch but not overpowering. The sticky rice was perfectly sweethen.) Overall, we always come back here for these favourites.

The food was alright quality and the prices were reasonable. The wait for the food was a bit too long though, we came in perfect timing and we only waited 30 minutes, but for people coming in later for takeaway, they had to wait 1+ hours for their food. We did eat there during Boxing Day, but there weren’t many tables to start with. The ambiance and decor was alright.

Great place, reasonable prices, very friendly staff, open to modifications for vegan request. Outstanding vegetable laksa, veg bags as entry, rice and mango dessert, and yellow curry. Recommend!!
